Everything you need to safely flash or unbrick your Tanix TX1 TV box powered by the Allwinner H313 chip β using PhoenixSuit.

The Tanix TX1 is sold in several RAM/storage configurations, and the name alone doesn’t guarantee which board revision you have. Before flashing, confirm you actually have a Tanix TX1 with the Allwinner H313:
- Check the sticker on the bottom of the box β it lists the model name and usually the RAM/storage config (the common TX1 ships as 2+16GB).
- On a working box, go to Settings β About and check the chip/CPU info.
- If the box is already bricked, use the seller listing or packaging to confirm the revision β do not guess.
Confirm the Chip: Allwinner H313
PhoenixSuit only works with Allwinner chips. The H313 is a quad-core Cortex-A53 SoC common in budget TV boxes. Confirm it:
| Check | How |
|---|---|
| About screen | Settings β About device β look for “H313” in the hardware/CPU line |
| Packaging / seller page | Spec sheet should list “Allwinner H313” |
| Open the case | The SoC marking on the chip itself is definitive (only if you’re comfortable opening it) |
Where to Find the Firmware
To get the right .img package:
- Go to the seller page where you bought the box (or the brand’s support page) and look for a firmware/download section matching your exact model name + hardware revision.
- Check the sticker on the bottom of the box β the hardware revision must match the firmware package.
- Custom ROMs: the TX1 is one of the boxes the community has documented running SlimBOXtv custom firmware (there are video walkthroughs on YouTube). If you want a custom ROM, find the thread for your exact TX1 revision on the XDA forums and follow that thread’s instructions to the letter β we don’t host or verify third-party images.
- Never use a generic package: a firmware built for a different board or RAM/storage configuration can brick the device even if the chip name matches.
- If the seller provides no firmware, contact them and ask for the factory .img for your exact revision before attempting anything.
How to Flash with PhoenixSuit
Full step-by-step walkthrough: How to use PhoenixSuit. The short version:
- Install the Allwinner USB drivers on your Windows PC first β without them PhoenixSuit cannot see the box in FEL mode. Download the drivers Β· full walkthrough on our drivers page.
- Install PhoenixSuit from the official package (see download page for version notes).
- Get the correct firmware .img for your exact model and hardware revision (see the section above). Place it somewhere you can find it.
- Open PhoenixSuit, go to the Firmware tab and click Image to select your .img file.
- Power the box OFF completely (unplug the power adapter). Hold the reset button (tiny pinhole, usually on the bottom or back), then connect the box to your PC with a USB cable while keeping reset pressed for a few seconds. The box enters FEL (flash) mode β PhoenixSuit should detect it.
- PhoenixSuit will ask whether to format. Choose Yes for a clean flash. Warning: this wipes all data on the box.
- Click Upgrade and wait. Do not unplug the USB cable or the PC until the green success bar appears.
- Unplug, connect the box to your TV and power it on. The first boot after flashing takes several minutes β be patient.
Unbrick Tips
If your box won’t boot after a bad flash, work through these before giving up:
- Re-enter FEL mode carefully: unplug everything, hold reset, then plug in USB. Timing matters β try a few times.
- Swap the cable and USB port: cheap charge-only cables are a classic failure point. Use a known-good USB data cable (a proper data cable) and a rear motherboard USB port.
- Reinstall the drivers: a yellow exclamation mark in Windows Device Manager means the driver didn’t stick. See the drivers page.
- Try a different PC β driver conflicts on one machine sometimes vanish on another.
- Check the power supply: after flashing, boot with the original 5V/2A adapter. Underpowered adapters cause boot loops that look like bricks.
- Flash the correct .img again β most “bricks” are just the wrong firmware. Reflash with the right file for your exact model + hardware revision.
𧱠Bricked beyond repair?
If repeated unbrick attempts fail, the board may be physically damaged β replacing it with a same-chip new box is usually cheaper than repair:

Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I download the stock firmware for the Tanix TX1?
We don’t host firmware files. Start with the seller page where you bought the box (or the brand’s support page), matching your exact model name and hardware revision. Community threads on the XDA forums for the TX1 sometimes collect stock dumps β only use a file confirmed for your exact revision, and never a generic or “universal” image.
Can I flash SlimBOXtv or another custom ROM on the TX1?
Yes β the TX1 is one of the boxes the community has documented running SlimBOXtv, with video walkthroughs on YouTube. Custom ROMs come from their own threads on the XDA forums: follow that thread’s instructions exactly, because the steps and files differ from stock flashing. PhoenixSuit can flash any .img you load, but we can’t verify third-party images.
PhoenixSuit doesn’t detect my TX1. What now?
In almost all cases this is a driver or cable problem: reinstall the Allwinner USB drivers, use a known-good USB data cable (not a charge-only cable), try a rear motherboard USB port, and make sure you’re holding the reset button while connecting so the box enters FEL mode.
Will flashing erase my apps and settings?
Yes. A full flash with format wipes everything on the box. Back up anything important first β see our backup guide.
