TV Box Stuck on Boot Logo? Fix Soft-Brick with PhoenixSuit
The box powers on, shows the logo, and never goes further. That is usually a soft-brick — the bootloader is alive but the system won’t load. Here’s how to confirm it, what to try before reflashing, and how to reflash safely.

These two look similar but need different fixes. Check your symptoms:
| Sign | Soft-brick (stuck on logo) | Dead / hard brick |
|---|---|---|
| Screen | Freezes on the logo, or boot-loops on the logo | Black screen, no output at all |
| Power LED | On (any color) | Off, or on with zero output |
| Recovery mode | Reachable via the reset pinhole (see Step 1) | Not reachable |
| PC in FEL mode | Usually detected (hold reset + USB) | Not detected — see device not detected |
Step 1: Try the Soft Fixes First
Don’t reach for the flasher yet. These take five minutes and fix most logo-freezes:
- Hard power cycle: unplug the power adapter for 30 seconds, then plug it back into a wall socket (not the TV’s USB port, which is often underpowered).
- Boot into recovery: unplug power, press and hold the reset pinhole button (toothpick works), plug the power back in while holding it for about 10 seconds. The Android recovery menu should appear.
- Wipe cache partition first — this keeps your apps and data.
- If the logo freeze persists, do a factory reset / wipe data from the same menu. Warning: this erases all apps and settings.
- Select Reboot and wait — the first boot after a wipe takes several minutes. Be patient before declaring it dead.
Step 2: Reflash the Firmware with PhoenixSuit
If the soft fixes didn’t work, the system partition is too damaged for a wipe — reflash the stock firmware:
- Get the correct .img for your exact model and hardware revision. Warning: flashing the wrong model’s package can turn a soft-brick into a hard brick. Honest sources only: the seller page, or the XDA forum thread for your exact model — see our firmware hub for model-specific guidance.
- Install the Allwinner USB drivers if you haven’t already — drivers page.
- Power the box OFF, hold the reset button, connect USB to your PC while holding reset — the box enters FEL mode and PhoenixSuit detects it.
- In the Firmware tab select your .img, choose Yes to format, and click Upgrade. Do not touch anything until the green success bar appears.

Step 3: If the PC Doesn’t Detect the Box
If PhoenixSuit never sees the box in FEL mode, stop and fix detection first — it’s almost always drivers or cable, not a dead board:
- Reinstall the Allwinner USB drivers — drivers page.
- Use a known-good USB data cable and a rear motherboard USB port — see our USB flashing accessories guide.
- Work through the full checklist: Device not detected in PhoenixSuit.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between ‘stuck on logo’ and ‘bricked’?
Stuck on the logo is a soft-brick: the bootloader still works, but the system partition is damaged so Android can’t load — it’s fixable with a wipe or a reflash. A hard brick means a black screen with no response at all, which needs an FEL-mode reflash and is harder to recover from.
I wiped cache and did a factory reset, but it’s still stuck on the logo. Now what?
Reflash the stock firmware with PhoenixSuit — that’s the next step up from a wipe (Step 2 above). If the PC can’t detect the box at all in FEL mode, work through our device-not-detected guide before giving up.
Will reflashing delete my apps and settings?
Yes. Reflashing with format wipes everything on the box. There’s no way around it — that’s why a backup matters before you flash.
How do I keep this from happening again?
Don’t interrupt OTA updates or flashing, only flash firmware built for your exact model and hardware revision, and keep a copy of your stock .img file so you always have a way back.
